NAIDOC Week in the Arts Rooms
The Monday Art Club students from years 1-6, enjoyed making a sculptural piece as part of our school activities celebrating NAIDOC Week. We used the meaning of ‘BULIMBA’- ‘place of the magpie lark’ (peewee) as inspiration for our ‘nest’. The students used the many patterns and colours found in Aboriginal art, to decorate Eucalyptus leaves, rocks (eggs) and form a nest out of Eucalyptus branches tied with string. Some students also made their own Magpie Larks. See how many you can find?!
