School Opinion Survey
The suite of School Opinion Surveys is undertaken each year by the Department of Education to obtain opinions about our school from families, school staff and students in target year levels (5, 6, 8 and 11).
The surveys will help identify what we are doing well, and understand where we can improve. The survey invitation will be emailed this coming week and is titled School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2025.
Each school family will receive one email invitation from the Department of Education to complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey. The survey is anonymous, and the results are not reported in ways that an individual’s response can be identified by the school.
Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to complete the survey. The survey can be completed via computers, tablets or smart phones with an internet connection. For Parents/Caregivers who do not have access to the internet school computers/tablets will be available. Parents/caregivers who experience difficulties accessing the survey can request a new survey from the School Opinion Survey team via email schoolopinionsurvey@qed.qld.gov.au.
It’s important that as many parents/caregivers as possible complete the survey, so we would appreciate if members of this committee would raise awareness of this survey with other parents and caregivers.
Can’t find your invitation? If your family has more than one parent/caregiver, check that they haven’t received the invitation and/or check your junk email folder.
OSHC NEWSLETTER (Term 3 Week 1)
Spring Vacation Care
Our Winter Vacation Care was a wonderful success with our excursion to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and our Pokemon Safari Day amongst some of the favourites. We are now preparing for our Spring program and already have some exciting things planned; including our annual Op Shop Tour, Games Van and a Day on the Green. If you have any ideas, please feel free to let us know by emailing oshcgeneral@bulimbass.eq.edu.au

Term 3 Additional Activities
This term we have two additional activities running during after school care:
- Mondays - MF Martial Arts (External Provider) - Combining the fitness and discipline of Martial Arts with life skills and values to help set children up for success.
- Wednesdays - Bulimba Big Buddies - An important step in our prep transition program. Children will be participating in a program with Tugulawa Early Education where they have the opportunity to create meaningful relationships, and intentionally develop leadership skills and responsibility with Tugulawa's Kindergarten cohort. We value the amazing relationship we have with Tugulawa and look forward to another successful program in Term 3 and 4.
If you are interested in participating in any of these programs, please email oshcgeneral@bulimbass.eq.edu.au
Breakfast Club
We have smoothies on the menu for breakfast club next Wednesday, 30th July. If you would like to join us, please book before school care via XAP. Keep an eye on our menu for more breakfast club ideas this term.
Staffing Update
- We welcome Lilly to our Educator team. Lilly is an ex BSS student who has already made such a positive impact and is a wonderful addition to our team.
- Our Lead Educator, Ben Guse, is currently in Germany competing in the World Uni Games. Ben is an Ex BSS student, has been part of our Educator team for the last 5 years and is currently the Australian National Decathlon Champion. Ben also started our OSHC Kilometre Club in 2024 and is looking forward to bringing this back later this term. We wish him all the best in Germany and look forward to cheering him on over the next few days.
Important Reminders
- Did you know we have a Facebook (Bulimba OSHC) and Instagram account (@bulimbaoshc)? Follow us on these platforms to see what we get up to.
We have recently had a large number of families not notifying us of absences prior to a session. If your child will not be attending a before or after school care session, please mark them absent via XAP or by sending us an email. As we have had waiting lists on Tuesdays and Thursdays in particular, this will free up spaces for those additional families needing care
