DEPUTY PRINCIPAL YEARS 3-6

Bullying No Way! National Week of Action

Last Friday our school joined with thousands of schools across Australia to acknowledge the Bullying No Way! National Week of Action, a time dedicated to raising awareness and taking positive steps towards preventing bullying in all its forms.

Across the week, our students participated in a variety of activities designed to promote empathy, kindness, and confidence in speaking up. These included circle time discussions, where students shared ideas about how we can support one another, affirmations to remind each other of our strengths, and engaging with stories that highlighted real-life examples of standing up against bullying. Each student also created a unique feather decorated with a positive message, which will be displayed collectively in our school hall as a striking symbol of our school’s shared voice for kindness and respect.

As part of the National Day of Action, our students and staff wore purple to show our solidarity and commitment to preventing bullying. This vibrant display was a reminder that our school community is united in building a culture where everyone feels safe to be bold, be kind, and speak up.

By taking part in the Bullying. No Way! National Week of Action, our school has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment, one where every student knows they belong and has the courage to stand up for themselves and others. Thank you to 3WB class teacher, Kylie Wallace, for your stellar efforts in leading our school’s Bullying No Way! National Week of Action activities.

Silver Academic Certificates

I had the absolute pleasure of presenting Silver Academic Certificates to a number of students in class last week. These certificates recognise their outstanding Semester One results across their core and/or specialist subjects, reflecting their consistent effort. Each recipient was warmly applauded by their class teacher and peers, making the moment even more special. Take a look at the proud smiles on the faces of some of the 3WB students holding their certificates below. It’s wonderful to see them celebrating their success together! Congratulations to all of our silver award recipients in Years 3-6.

Athletics Carnival Presentation

Mr Bryant, our very dedicated PE teacher, recently presented the results of the Athletics Carnival at our whole school parade. The roof on the hall nearly lifted when Jupiter House was awarded overall champions of the field events AND crowned overall champion house!

A big congratulations to Mercury House for their outstanding results in track events. They were awarded overall champion of the track events, which is another incredible achievement for this team. Saturn House are also to be commended for their display of spirit, athleticism and integrity on the day.

Thank you to our house captains and vice captains for leading your teams so expertly on the day. Your enthusiasm, encouragement and willingness to lend a hand to your teammates does not go unnoticed.  Congratulations to William, Timi, Olive, Owen, Hugo, Charlotte, Ava, Isis, Sebastian, Pippa, Zara and Harry for a successful athletics carnival.
