DEPUTY PRICIPAL YEARS 3-6
Bulimba’s Got Talent
On Wednesday, the hall was buzzing with excitement as the finalists of Bulimba’s Got Talent took to the stage to showcase their incredible talents. The audience was wowed by a jaw-dropping magic show, energetic and polished dance groups, the beautiful sounds of the piano, and the powerful rhythms of a drums. Each act brought its own spark, creating an afternoon full of energy, creativity and school spirit.
Our school leaders Lola, Olive, Boston and Max kept the crowd laughing and cheering with their quick wit, fun costumes and friendly banter, making the show flow seamlessly from one performance to the next. It was wonderful to see students, staff and families all joining in the celebration of talent.
Congratulations to Felix in 5M and Zoe and Madison in 4J who won Bulimba’s Got Talent 2025! A special thank you goes to our Arts Captains, Saige and Eloise, as well as Mrs Schache, Mrs Lordan and Mr Klarwein, whose hard work and support throughout the term and on the day helped bring this unforgettable event to life. Bulimba’s Got Talent was truly a celebration of our students’ courage and creativity!

Bulimba P&C Book Review Competition
Our wonderful P&C recently ran a Book Review Competition, providing a fantastic opportunity for students who love reading and writing to share their passion for literature. The competition attracted many entries, with students recommending some truly fantastic books. Every entrant received a Yo-Chi voucher – a sweet reward that will no doubt be enjoyed!
We are delighted to announce that local Bulimba resident and award-winning children’s author and illustrator, Sophie Beer, selected Philippa Wilson (3WB) as the winner of the competition for her review of Charlotte’s Web. On parade this week, Sophie presented Philippa with a very generous prize pack of vouchers and books. Congratulations, Philippa!
All of the book reviews are proudly on display at the BCC Bulimba Library, so be sure to pop down and take a look. You might just discover your child’s next great read there!
The P&C also generously donated some of Sophie Beer’s books to our library, which Sophie proudly signed.

Year 5 Clay Workshop – The Animal Within
Our Year 5 students recently took part in a hands-on clay workshop, supported by talented visiting artists Ky and Nico. As part of their visual art unit, The Animal Within, students explored the process of designing, sculpting and glazing their own animal creations. With guidance, students experimented with a range of tools and techniques, carefully shaping their clay into professional-looking sculptures full of personality and creativity.
Workshops like these give students the chance to see their learning come to life in exciting and meaningful ways. Beyond developing artistic skills, these experiences create lasting memories that deepen their understanding and appreciation of art.
Thank you Mrs Davis and the Year 5 Team for helping to facilitate this workshop.
